[Digital Studio.13] is proud to announce the open call for submissions to the upcoming digital painting exhibition titled “The Aesthetic of Freedom”, curated by Nazila Karimi.

This exhibition seeks digital artworks that portray the concept of freedom in a broad and multilayered sense — from personal, social, and political liberty to emotional, mental, and even imaginative liberation.

We invite digital artists to visually narrate freedom through the contemporary language of digital illustration. Freedom is a concept inherently tied to complexity, struggle, hope, and aspiration — and we want to see how you interpret it.

  • The Body, Borders, and Liberation
  • Resistance, Expression, and Freedom
  • Imagination, Play, and Limitlessness
  • Technology and the Redefinition of Freedom

Submission Guidelines:

Technique: Digital painting only (works must be created digitally — scans or photos of hand-drawn artworks will not be accepted. AI-generated works are not eligible.)

File format: High-resolution JPG or PNG (minimum 300 dpi)

Number of submissions: Up to 3 artworks per artist

Medium: Digital painting or digital illustration

Pricing: Selected works will be offered for sale as limited editions, priced between 10 to 20 million IRR, to be agreed upon with the artist

Presentation of selected works: Printed on natural canvas, size 70 x 100 cm• Deadline for submission: July 3, 2025

Exhibition opening: Friday, July 18 to July 24, 2025

Venue: Aliha Gallery, 1st Floor, No. 31, Ahmadi Moghaddam (Izad) Alley, beginning of Ramazanian Alley, Mahroozadeh Alley, near Qods Square, Shariati Street, Tehran

Notes:

  • All submitted works will be reviewed by a jury panel.
  • Selected artists will have their works exhibited in the final show.
  • All participating artists whose works are selected will receive a certificate of participation.
