Studio 13: Digital and Contemporary Iranian Art Space
Studio 13 was established in 2020 as an independent, private art space in Tehran with the mission of nurturing and exhibiting both emerging and experienced artists in the fields of digital, visual, and contemporary arts. With a vision of creating a solid foundation for digital and contemporary arts in Iran, Studio 13 continuously strives to elevate Iranian digital and contemporary art to meet global standards.
In 2021, Studio 13 launched its first book publishing program with "The Glitch Moment(um)" by Rosa Menkman, translated by Nazila Karimi and published by Nazar Publications.
On January 18, 2023, Studio 13 hosted a book launch event at Didar Gallery for "Glitch; the Language of Pixels" written by Nazila Karimi, which was attended by artists and enthusiasts in the field.
On January 29, 2023, the book "Glitch Aesthetics" by Shay Moradi, translated by Nazila Karimi, was published and distributed to bookstores and cultural centers.
Studio 13 organized the exhibition "Revisiting Rosa Menkman's Glitch Art" at Aliha Gallery on April 18, 2025. The exhibition featured Rosa's biography, studies, research, and prominent video glitch art works, along with statements and descriptions for each video. Six important photographic works by Rosa were also displayed.
Studio 13 remains committed to diligently fostering relationships with artists, galleries, platforms, and art institutions both within and outside Iran. The studio will continue its efforts to introduce Iranian art internationally and facilitate group exhibitions featuring both Iranian and non-Iranian artists, thereby paving the way for artistic advancement.
